Terms & Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to bookings for all courses at LITE Regal Cambridge and LITE Regal London. By submitting the booking form you are agreeing to the full terms and conditions. If enrolling a student under 18, you agree to the terms and conditions on their behalf.
1. Course Information
Most courses start on a Monday (or Tuesday if Monday is a bank holiday) and finish on Friday.
All courses have entry requirements including minimum age and English language level. Information about these can be found in course details on our website or brochure. We reserve the right to make any changes necessary to the enrolment at the student’s expense should such information be found incorrect at the time of application.
We reserve the right to change course arrangements and prices without advance notice.
We reserve the right to move students to the class most appropriate for their English language level throughout their course.
In the event of insufficient enrolments for a course, LITE Regal reserves the right to offer an alternative course of equal value. LITE Regal also reserves the right to change course programmes and locations without prior notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
All students are required to present their passport or ID card on their first day and the school will retain a copy.
Students are required to provide and keep up to date their contact details in London or Cambridge as well as next of kin contact details in their own country.
Students are required to inform LITE Regal of any change of circumstances that would affect their visa.
Students are required to attend their classes regularly and on time.
Examinations are held externally and are not included in tuition fees unless stated otherwise. Students can book examinations through LITE Regal reception. As exam places are limited we recommend that students book their place provisionally at the beginning of their course.
From time to time LITE Regal representatives take photographs and videos during programmes which may be used as promotional material. If you do not wish to appear in any promotional material please inform LITE Regal at the time of application.
2. Accommodation
In arranging accommodation LITE Regal acts as an agent for the accommodation supplier. LITE Regal is not responsible for payment of any tax claimed from students by UK or foreign authorities.
LITE Regal reserves the right to change accommodation arrangements and prices without advance notice.
If booking accommodation in one of our student residences by agreeing to these Terms & Conditions students also agree to the terms of the accommodation supplier and the residence rules. These will be sent to student before arrival.
LITE Regal will do it’s best to meet all special requests especially those related to health and diet, however these are not always possible.
3. Student Holidays
You may take a holiday of two weeks every 12 weeks without losing your fee for this period, providing two week’s notice is given.
If you are staying in our homestay accommodation and wish to take a holiday, you must give two week’s notice to the school. If you wish to leave your luggage at homestay during your holiday a retainer of £50 per week will be charged to you.£50 / week. All other accommodation is subject to full weekly rate throughout your holiday. If you need a visa to enter the country and wish to take a holiday either during or after your course, you should request extra weeks when you apply for your visa.
4. Payment
To secure your place on a course you must submit an application form and pay required deposit, which is part of your total fees. This deposit is non-refundable.
English Courses: deposit £200
University Foundation, A Levels: deposit £3600
To book your accommodation you need to pay the accommodation placement fee. This fee is non-refundable.
Accommodation placement fee (homestay only): £35
Remaining fees as stated on your pro-form invoice are required no later than 15 days prior to arrival for English courses and no later than 30 days prior to arrival for University Foundation and A Level courses. Students with unpaid fees will not be admitted to the course and will not be able to move or remain in their accommodation.
If you are applying for a visa a full payment of course and accommodation fees is required. Documents for visa applications will not be issued unless students have paid course fees in full.
For A Levels and University Foundation Programme, fees can be paid by term. Fees for each term are due 30 days before the term starts.
Payments can be made by:
- Credit / Debit Card: you can either provide your card details on the enrolment form or pay online
- International Bank Transfer: LITE Regal is not responsible for any bank transfer charges. Payment must be received in full – please instruct your bank to remit the full amount plus additional funds to cover ALL bank transfer charges. You will need to send us a copy of the bank transfer with your enrolment form. Please make certain that your name appears clearly on the bank transfer
- Sterling Cheque: drawn on an English bank account
5. Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing to LITE Regal’s Head Office. Once a booking has been confirmed, the following cancellation fees apply:
Course Cancellation Fees
More than 2 weeks before course start date: Course fees are refunded in full minus deposit (£200 for English courses, £3600 for University Foundation and A Level courses)
Less than 2 weeks before course start date: Course fees are refunded minus deposit of £200 plus one week’s tuition fees for English courses. For University Foundation and A level courses course fees are refunded minus deposit of £3600 plus one term’s tuition fees.
Before arrival when a student is refused a visa: If you want to cancel your booking before arrival in the country, you must send us a copy of your visa refusal letter issued by the Embassy/Consulate. All course fees will be refunded less an administration charge of £100. Accommodation fees will be refunded according to our accommodation cancellation policy below.
Accommodation cancellation fees
If you cancel your accommodation in a residence at least 4 weeks prior to your arrival you will not incur any charges. Cancellations made 1-4 weeks prior to arrival are subject to a charge of up to 4 weeks of accommodation fees.
If you cancel your accommodation in a homestay at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival you will not incur any charges. Cancellations made 1-2 weeks prior to arrival are subject to a charge of up to 2 weeks of accommodation fees.
If you need to postpone your arrival, you must tell us in writing. If we are able to change your arrival dates, the following fees apply:
- If you postpone your accommodation in a residence at least 4 weeks prior to your arrival you will not incur any charges. If you postpone 1-4 weeks prior to arrival, you will incur a charge of up to 4 weeks of accommodation fees.
- If you postpone your accommodation in a homestay at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival you will not incur any charges. If you postpone 1-2 weeks prior to arrival, you will incur a charge of up to 2 weeks of accommodation fees.
If you change to a less expensive course on or after the course start date, we will not refund any tuition fees. It is not possible to transfer fees to another student.
We reserve the right to charge an administration fee for any changes made to the original booking.
In the event that LITE Regal has to cancel a course, we will do our best to move the student to an equivalent programme. If this is not possible, we will refund all fees paid to LITE Regal, but will not refund any other payments, such as for flights.
6. Visas
It is the responsibility of the student to check the visa requirements for entry into the UK and ensure the student is granted the appropriate visa for their period of study with LITE Regal.
We will only offer refunds in cases for visa refusal where the student followed UK Home Office guidelines for their visa application.
If a student arrives at one of our centres without the correct visa, we are required by law to arrange for them to leave as soon as possible.
7. Arrivals & Airport Transfers
Students who would like to book an airport taxi transfer must submit their travel details as soon as possible.
If you cancel your airport taxi transfer less than 1 week prior to arrival will not receive a refund of airport transfer fees.
Students are responsible for any additional taxi waiting time charges incurred if their flight is delayed.
If you have booked accommodation with LITE Regal, please inform us of your intended arrival time.
8. 16 and 17 Year Old Students
Students aged 16 and 17 study alongside adult students with minimal supervision outside class times.
Students age 16 and 17 without a guardian in the country must stay with a homestay. They must book an arrival airport transfer unless a guardian (21 years and over) is meeting them at the airport.
Students aged 16 and 17 should carry a letter of consent to travel alone and present it, if requested, on arrival in the country. We will send a form letter with the confirmation documents.
9. Limitation of Liability
LITE Regal excludes all liability related to this Agreement to the fullest extent permitted under Law. LITE Regal will bear no responsibility for any personal injury, damage to property or for any other direct or indirect damage that may be suffered by the Student or any third person as a result of and/or in relation to any act or omission connected to this Agreement or any act or omission of LITE Regal or its servants or agents which constitutes a breach of contract and/or a tort and/or a contravention of the Legislation.
10. Intellectual Property
The Student acknowledges and agrees that any Intellectual Property and Confidential Information related to LITE Regal, including but not limited to any Trademarks or Logos shall belong to and be the absolute property of the LITE Regal and the Student undertakes not to dispute the LITE Regal ownership of the Confidential Information and/or Intellectual Property. The Student acknowledges and agrees that it may not now or at any time in the future use or exploit its Intellectual Property without the express written permission of the LITE Regal insofar as is necessary for the provision of the performance of this Agreement.
The Student agrees to indemnify the LITE Regal against any and all liability, loss, damage, costs and expenses which the LITE Regal may incur or suffer as a result of a breach by the Student of the warranties set out in this Clause.
11. Force Majeure
Neither LITE Regal nor its employees are liable for non-performance of contractual obligations or damages to the extent that they are caused by force majeure, in particular fire, water, storm or other natural events, explosion, strike, war, civil unrest or other reasons outside the sphere of responsibility/influence of LITE Regal.
12. Privacy Protection
LITE Regal collects processes and uses the personal data of the Course student both for the purpose of fulfilling the contract signed with the Course student and as permitted by law and under the terms of any signed declaration of consent in compliance with privacy protection laws.
13. Severance
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that these terms and conditions adhere strictly with the relevant provisions of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, in the event that any of these terms are found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that term is to be deemed severed from these terms and conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms and conditions. This term shall apply only within jurisdictions where a particular term is illegal.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
LITE Regal shall use its best and reasonable endeavours to ensure that all information provided on the Course is accurate and up to date; however LITE Regal makes no warranty or representation that this will always be the case. LITE Regal makes no guarantee of any specific results from the use of the Course.
No part of the Course is intended to constitute advice and the content of the Course should not be relied upon when making any decisions or taking any action of any kind.
Any information that forms part of the Course is not designed with commercial purposes in mind. LITE Regal makes no representation or warranty that the Course or any content therein is suitable for use in commercial situations or that it constitutes accurate data and / or advice.
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that all descriptions of Course available from LITE Regal correspond to the actual Course available, LITE Regal is not responsible for any variations from these descriptions.
15. Indemnity
The Student shall indemnify LITE Regal for any amount of money, including, without limitation, any legal fees for contesting any claim or otherwise, which the Company may be obliged to pay to any third party as a result of any act or omission of the Student or LITE Regal relating to or arising from the execution or performance of this Agreement.
16. No Waiver
In the event that either the Student or LITE Regal fails to exercise any right or remedy contained in these terms and conditions, this shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy.
17. Assignment
The Student may not assign, transfer, sub-contract, or in any other manner make over to any third party the benefit and/or burden of this Agreement to any third party. LITE Regal shall be entitled to assign its rights and obligations under this Agreement to any third party.
18. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions embody and set forth the entire Agreement and understanding between the Parties and supersede all prior oral or written agreements, understandings or arrangements relating to the subject matter of the Agreement. Neither the Student nor LITE Regal shall be entitled to rely on any agreement, understanding or arrangement not expressly set forth in these terms and conditions, save for any representation made fraudulently.
19. Third Party Rights
Any entity or person that is not a party to this Agreement has no rights to enforce any term of this Agreement including, without limitation, under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
20. Applicable Law
These terms and conditions and all legal relations between the LITE Regal and the Course student are subject to the laws of England. The parties submit to the courts of London having jurisdiction over any dispute.
21. Complaints Procedure
In recognition that, on occasion, there will be legitimate complaints which individual students wish to raise, LITE Regal is committed to maintaining an effective complaint procedure. LITE Regal recognises that lessons can be learnt from complaints, enabling it to improve the quality and effectiveness of its services. Complaints must be made in writing and will be recorded, along with any action taken in regard to the specific complaint or more generally to avoid recurrence of the difficulty. From time to time, anonymous summary management reports of complaints will be reviewed.
22. Display of the Agreement
A copy of this Agreement shall be available on the Website at all times.
23. Promotional Materials
Students may be asked to take part in promotional activities including but not limited to videos, photos, brochures, newsletters, website pages and general promotional activities. By enrolling in the Course, the Student consents to the use of their image and/or their details and to sign any releases deemed necessary by LITE Regal. If a Student wishes to opt out of this clause then they must email LITE Regal before the commencement of their Course.
24. Press
The Student is not permitted under any circumstances during the Course or at any time thereafter to give any statements or interviews to the press or any third parties regarding the Course, LITE Regal, or any employee, member or agent of LITE Regal without the express written authorisation of LITE Regal.
25. Headings
Headings are intended for reference only and shall have no effect on the meaning of any provision of this Agreement.
26. Survival
Where LITE Regal reasonably intends for some clauses in this Agreement to survive the termination then they shall be deemed to do so at the behest of LITE Regal.
27. Right to Alter
LITE Regal reserves the right to hold, void, cancel or suspend this promotion or to amend the terms of this Agreement at any time without notice.
